Hyatt Regency Newport Names Daniella Giorgio 'Director of Fun'
July 29, 2010 - No place does summer like Newport, Rhode Island, and no address in the historic coastal city gets guests into the season like Hyatt Regency Newport. The recently redesigned hotel and spa on Goat Island in Newport Harbor recently appointed Daniella Giorgio as its first Activities Director, or as she's now affectionately known, “Director of Fun.”
In her new role, Giorgio coordinates an array of new onsite diversions for all ages, abilities and enthusiasms to assure memorable stays for the whole family. Scheduled activities include water aerobics in the hotel's outdoor pool, yoga on the spa deck, organized volleyball matches on the Great Lawn, wine tasting and mixology sessions, watercolor painting lessons and “Sundae Sunday” ice cream socials. Evenings are brightened with s'mores by the fire at the North Lawn Fire Pit, live music at Pineapples on the Bay and outdoor movies that guests can cozy up for on the lawn with blankets and popcorn.
The hotel also encourages active leisure time for guests, with equipment for recreational pursuits such as bocce, Frisbee, lawn checkers and croquet. Guests can take advantage of the steady breezes of Newport Harbor with kites available at the Activities Office.

Ms. Giorgio brings great credentials to her new assignment at Hyatt Regency Newport, including experience as Event Coordinator for HallKeen Management, a real estate management firm in nearby West Warwick, Rhode Island. Giorgio earned an MBA in Global Business with a concentration on Marketing from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, in addition to a Bachelor's Degree in Consumer Science from Framingham State College in Massachusetts.
