IHG Announces Holiday Inn in Laval, Quebec
November 1, 2010 - IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON:IHG, NYSE:IHG)] today announces that the 176-room Holiday Inn Laval-Montreal will open November 1, 2010.
The property is based on the Holiday Inn brand's “Next-Generation” prototype and will show case the brand's new sign, which is the seal of approval that this hotel exemplifies the standards of the $1 billion Holiday Inn brand relaunch program. The Holiday Inn brand relaunch is the largest in the history of the hospitality industry, with more than 3,400 hotels around the world being updated - improving quality and driving consistency at Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express hotels around the world. The global estate is expected to be relaunched by the end of 2010, and nearly 2,800 hotels have already been relaunched to date.
The relaunch focuses on the things research shows matter most to guests - a modern, contemporary hotel with efficient, friendly service and a great night's sleep. Relaunched hotels feature:
- Upgraded and decluttered lobby areas
- A Holiday Inn scent and sound
- New bedding
- Upgraded showers and bathroom amenities
- New exterior lighting and landscaping
- New signage with the redesigned logo
- All Holiday Inn employees also go through an extensive "Stay Real" training program to ensure guests receive the level of service they expect.
The 142,000 sq.-ft. Holiday Inn Laval-Montreal was developed to be more efficient to operate and maintain. It features a contemporary, innovative design that provides accessible comfort and sets new standards for business travelers and families alike. There are currently more than 60 Holiday Inn hotels operating in the Americas in the “Next-Generation” prototype design.

The full-service hotel includes Restaurant le Zircon, which offers the standard Holiday Inn Best-4-Breakfastâ menu, with signature items such as Rainforest Alliance™ Certified coffee, Cinnamon Supreme French Toast™ and Skillet Inspirations™. Kids 12 and younger eat free at Holiday Inn when ordering from the kids' menu in the hotel restaurant and accompanied by a dining adult. The residential design includes business-focused necessities like an ergonomic work station, data ports, complimentary Globe & Mail newspapers, complimentary high speed Internet access in guest rooms & WiFi capabilities. In addition, each room will have the standard Holiday Inn guestroom accommodations - comfortable double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, cable television, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron and ironing board.
The Holiday Inn Laval-Montreal will also offer a variety of other amenities such as on-site pool and workout facilities. With 7,900-sq. ft. of function space, the hotel will be available for business meetings and banquets.
