Braintree Motel 6 Celebrates Renovation
Celebrates Renovation with Local Leaders
November 19, 2010 - Motel 6, the economy lodging leader with more than 1,000 locations in the U.S. and Canada, celebrated the completion of its renovated location in Braintree, Mass. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on November 10, 2010. Motel 6 Braintree, located at 125 Union Street, is the first in New England to feature the chain's award-winning “Phoenix” design, recently awarded Travel Leisure magazine's 2010 Design Award for “Best Large Hotel.”
Local community and business leaders attended the event to celebrate the renovation of the location and received a tour of the new rooms. Town of Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan and Deputy Police Chief David Jenkins participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with Milton Herbert, Executive Director from the Boston Convention Marketing Center. They joined Motel 6 executives, including Jeff Palmer, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer; Jim Amorosia, President and Chief Operating Officer; and Jeff Shook, Regional Vice President.
The newly-renovated Union Street location features a modernized interior; sleek European boutique-style guestroom; wood-effect laminate flooring; 32” flat-screen TVs; and granite bathroom countertops. The new modern guestroom design features bright accent colors, ambient lighting, and a pedestal bed that complements the room's sleek, clean design. Additionally, guestrooms include a multi-media panel with A/V plug-ins for mp3 players, video game systems and laptop computers; Wi-Fi Internet access; and a settee/banquette area for two.
Currently, Motel 6 locations in select markets around the country are being renovated with elements of the new design. For more information on Motel 6, please visit www.motel6.com. For photos of the new “Phoenix” room, go to http://accor-na.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=image_gallery&cat=13.
