Ginny Morrison Promoted to VPSM for Lane Hospitality
NORTHBROOK, IL - December, 2010 - Lane Hospitality, one of the nation's top hospitality management and ownership companies, has announced the promotion of Ginny Morrison, a 25-year hospitality veteran, to Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Morrison oversees all sales and marketing efforts for the company's portfolio, both owned and managed hotels, as well as strategic planning, sales and revenue management.
“Ginny has excelled in all her previous roles within the Lane organization, making many impressive contributions and implementing numerous successful sales and marketing initiatives,” said Bill DeForrest, President & CEO of Lane Hospitality and new Chairman of InterContinental Hotel Group's Owners' Association (IAHI).
Morrison joined Lane Hospitality in 1991 as General Manager and was promoted to Regional General Manager, then Regional Director of Sales & Marketing. From ski resorts in Colorado to corporate hotels in Chicago and other markets, she has utilized her operational skills and marketing know-how to insure profitable and service-oriented hotels throughout her career.
Morrison is also a mentor and role model to young people, committed to providing job and educational opportunities to those interested in the hospitality industry. She currently serves on the Illinois Hotel & Lodging Association (IHLA) Educational Foundation Board of Directors, a non-profit group that implements special educational and scholarship programs for hospitality students. She is a guest speaker at Chicago's Roosevelt University Manfred Steinfeld School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and Kendall College.
In addition, she is a member of the IAHI Sales Task Force and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) Sales Council. She is past President of the Skokie Valley, IL Rotary Club and member of the Board of Directors of Skokie Valley United Way. She was recognized by her peers and nominated as “Hotelier of the Year” by the IHLA, and received Lane Hospitality's Howard J. Griffiths “General Manager of the Year” award. Morrison holds a B.A. in nutrition from Bowling Green State University of Ohio.
