Hilton Irvine Welcomes New Executive Chef Leonel De Leon
Hilton Irvine, a central hub for business and leisure travelers in Orange County, is pleased to announce the appointment of Leonel De Leon as Executive Chef. With more than 20 years of experience in hospitality and fine dining. Chef De Leon brings a fresh vision and refined culinary approach to one of Irvine's most celebrated hotels.
Chef De Leon's culinary passion was sparked at a young age, and his early curiosity evolved into a lifelong pursuit, leading him to graduate from Le Cordon Bleu and train in some of Southern California's top kitchens. He spent his early years working at acclaimed restaurants such as Beechwood in Marina Del Rey before moving into hotel kitchens, where he built an impressive two-decade career.
In his new role, De Leon will lead all culinary operations at Hilton Irvine, including the hotel's restaurant, Aura, property catering, and banquet programs. Through the hotel's various food and beverage programs, he plans to introduce seasonal updates and globally inspired dishes that reflect both his personal journey and the diverse palate of the Orange County dining scene.
"My goal is to create memorable experiences through food by balancing classic techniques with a modern, approachable twist," said Leonel De Leon, Executive Chef at Hilton Irvine. "Food should feel personal, thoughtful, and rooted in both flavor and story. That's why I draw inspiration from travel, memory, and what's fresh right now. For travelers, a great meal can be just as memorable as the stay itself—and sometimes, it's the reason they return. In fact, brand loyalty is often shaped by a hotel's dining experience, which is why I strive to ensure every dish we serve resonates and leaves a lasting impression."
Robert Koscelnik, General Manager at Hilton Irvine, added, "Chef Leonel's depth of experience, attention to detail, and genuine love for hospitality strongly align with the Hilton Irvine team. We're excited to see how his leadership and creativity will elevate our culinary offerings."
With its central location near John Wayne Airport, the University of California, Irvine, and top shopping and entertainment destinations, Hilton Irvine is a favorite among Orange County visitors. With its contemporary design, well-appointed rooms, meeting spaces, fitness center, and outdoor heated pool, Hilton Irvine offers a comfortable and relaxing environment for guests, whether visiting for business or leisure. Under Chef De Leon's direction, the hotel will continue to offer elevated dining experiences at its on-site restaurant, Aura, that reflect its reputation for hospitality excellence and exemplary customer service.
