White Lodging Promotes Jeffrey Hess, CMP to GM

December 8, 2010 - White Lodging is pleased to announce the promotion of Jeffrey Hess, CMP to the position of General Manager at the Holiday Inn Chicago Midway.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, Hess most recently served as the Area Director of Sales and Marketing at the Midway Hotel Center. In this position, he developed and implemented sales and marketing strategies for nine properties owned and/or managed by White Lodging.
Prior to joining the White Lodging team in 2008, Hess spent six years in St. Louis working in various managerial and supervisory capacities at the St. Louis Renaissance Grand and Suites Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. "Jeff is truly a hotel professional," commented John Randall, regional vice president. "I am thrilled for him to receive his first General Manager assignment, and I look forward to having him back in operations."
Hess's career began with Marriott International in 1989 where he held numerous positions at the Marriott Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas. During his tenure with Marriott International, Hess received a Gala Award from Special Events Magazine and was named Manager of the Year in 1999. One of his most significant contributions to the company was helping redevelop its Catering and Event Standards.
Hess has also worked with Marriott properties in Colorado, California, Missouri, Kansas and downtown Chicago.
The 146-room Holiday Inn Chicago Midway is the newest hotel in the Midway Hotel Center. "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to build on a property that has started so strong," Hess shared. He went on to say he is excited to work with the property's associates and stakeholders to "deliver the finest lodging experience in the area." Hess assumed the General Manager duties on December 1, 2010.
