California Awards Green Lodging Leadership Status to DoubleTree by Hilton Livermore
Livermore, CA - March 11, 2011 - The State of California's Green Lodging Program announced today, that The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Livermore has been designated with Leadership Level Status because of its dedication to protecting the environment and green practices. The California Green Lodging Program recognizes efforts by the California hospitality industry to minimize waste, conserve energy and protect natural resources.

The California Green Lodging Program was developed to steer green travelers to eco-friendly hotels and resorts. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Livermore earned the Leadership Level status by keeping a written environmental policy and by meeting all seven of the program's criteria: waste minimization, reuse/recycling, energy efficiency, conservation and management, waste management, freshwater resource management, hazardous materials management, plus environmentally and socially sensitive purchasing policies.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Livermore is dedicated to supporting the wellness of the State of California. “We care about the environment and our carbon footprint. Our everyday practices and policies support this dedication,” Bashir said.
More than 200 hotels in California have been designated as green since the program was established in 2004. Only a handful of properties, including The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Livermore, have received the top classification of Leadership Level.
