Fire Drill Training at Holiday Inn Melaka
Melaka - June 15, 2011 - A sudden alarm siren breaks the silence on a typical day at Holiday Inn Melaka. The familiar voice asking for evacuation was an obvious signal that an emergency had occurred. Without hesitation, the hotel's employee reacts to the signal calmly and evacuated the building. A minute later, the hotel is vacant and all staffs are gathered at the assembly area.
That was the scenario of a mock fire drill that had been held recently at Holiday Inn Melaka.
The exercise was to equip the hotel's employee with sufficient knowledge and training as well as to prepare its staff when it comes to emergency such as fire.
“One of our goal in running a great hotel is not only to provide a safe working environment but also to ensure that everyone in the hotel is prepared with the right knowledge on what need to be done in cases of unlikely event” says Christoph Voegeli, General Manager of Holiday Inn Melaka.
The exercise was also took part by a team of firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Department Melaka to demonstrate a rescue scenario. The general manager, Mr. Christoph Voegeli and Security Manager, Ms. Jaz Zafina Zahari was personally in attendance to oversee the whole exercise operation.
