Monte Azul Luxury Boutique Hotel Arrives

. June 28, 2011

June 27, 2011 - Monte Azul Boutique Hotel, Costa Rica's first boutique luxury hotel with art and design center, has arrived and created a blend of some of the country's most rich elements - nature and art. Envisioned by former San Francisco art dealer, Carlos Rojas and Randy Langendorfer, and set in one of the country's most biodiverse regions, Monte Azul Boutique Hotel is a haven for anyone who enjoys immersing themselves in the true art and science of travel.

Opening its doors in 2009, Monte Azul, quickly andunexpectedly, became a favorite among art lovers who were seeking out exquisite pieces from the hotel's inventory of contemporary art and a peek into the country's burgeoning art scene. Of course, what guests receive upon arrival is far beyond a fine collection of visual artistry because the real star of the show becomes Monte Azul's pristine rainforests, which are bursting with life at every seam.

Located on a 125-acre private nature reserve at 3,500 feet in altitude, Monte Azul is equipped with four, uniquely designed “casitas”, private spa services, exquisite dining, an unimaginable selection of activities and about 90 percent of the country's biodiversity. From its location to its staff, Monte Azul has surpassed the very definition of authentic travel and it has not gone unnoticed.

With its "new standards for sustainability and style,” Monte Azul caught the attention of Conde Nast Traveler Editors, earning the hotel a coveted position on the magazine's 2010 Hot List. Other recognitions and mentions soon followed, including certification from The Zeitz Foundation, as the organization's first certified property for sustainability and conservation. Most recently, former guests also recognized Monte Azul on TripAdvisor and garnered the hotel a 100 percent rating and a Certificate of Excellence for 2011.

Over the next few months, Monte Azul will be working on offering new options to their guests by adding an art gallery to the property as well as creating new and unique packages tailored for every type of traveler including honeymooners, nature lovers, art lovers, food lovers, empty nesters and others. True to Monte Azul's concept, the packages will be filled with one-of-a kind activities that are exclusive to the hotel including art workshops, cooking classes, cheese making and soap making, among others.

Those looking for the quintessential Costa Rica experience need not worry as guests can also enjoy zip lining, whale watching, horseback riding, sea kayaking and much more. Of course, regardless of the preference, all will enjoy ending an active day by treating himself or herself to a nice meal or cocktail from Cafe Blue and a relaxing spa treatment. Stay tuned for news from Monte Azul, its offerings and resident artists.
