Wampold Companies Acquires 120-Room Quality Suites in Baton Rouge
Located on Bluebonnet Centre Boulevard in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, LA - July 20, 2011 - Wampold Companies, a Baton Rouge-based real estate development and property management firm today announced that it has successfully acquired the 120-room Quality Suites hotel in Baton Rouge. The hotel, which was built in 1986, is located on approximately three acres at 9138 Bluebonnet Centre Boulevard and I-10. The purchase price is $2,325,000.
According to Mike Wampold, CEO of Wampold Companies, “Substantial renovations are planned for the property including redesign and refurbishment of guestrooms and public space interiors to include new furniture, fixtures and equipment. Replacement of the roofing, mechanical and elevator systems is also planned.” Hotel amenities include a restaurant and bar, pool and courtyard, fitness center, business center and meeting space. Renovations are expected to begin in 30 days and be completed by 1st quarter 2012.
Mike Wampold is also the developer and owner of the new 256-room Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel, also located on Bluebonnet Boulevard within a mile of the Quality Suites. "Both of these properties are located in what we consider to be the epicenter of the Baton Rouge growth corridor. We are excited about the potential of both properties. The proximity of the two hotels to one another will also afford us certain economies and efficiencies in operations and marketing," Wampold stated.
The Quality Suites Hotel is convenient to Baton Rouge area businesses, Louisiana State University, and many of Baton Rouge's prestigious restaurants, shopping, attractions, Louisiana government and medical centers.
