Westin St. Maarten Appoints New F&B Director
August 29, 2011 - Westin St. Maarten Resort and Spa is pleased to announce the appointment of Cristian Coro as the property's new Food and Beverage Director. Cristian Coro is responsible for the direction and organization of all Food & Beverage functions within the hotel, in order to maintain the highest standards of quality, service and merchandising for maximum profit.
He is also accountable for 5.6 million annual F&B operations, including all Westin outlets, from their classic steakhouse Aura and contemporary restaurant Ocean, to the resort's casual pool bar and deli. Coro works closely with both the Managers and Area Chefs to implement effective control of all Food & Beverage sub-departments throughout the hotel. Coro oversees a total of 80 culinary staff, consistently upholding the Westin brand with his valued leadership and direction.
An industry veteran, Coro brings 25 years of distinguished experience in the Food & Beverage business. Originally from Venice, Italy, Coro developed an authentic passion for food at an early age. He spent two years the acclaimed Instituto Alberghiero Cipriani di Adria, where he perfected his industry knowledge and expertise. Soon after, Coro worked in various reputable restaurants throughout Italy, earning a membership role on FIC (Federazione Italiana Couchi) and participating in culinary competitions with AIBES (Associazione Italiana Barmen e Sostenitori). Prior to his current directorial position at Westin St. Maarten, Coro served as their Food & Beverage Manager. His thorough understanding of the resort's internal operations has contributed to increased sales, profitability, quality and overall guest satisfaction.
In his free time, Coro can be found playing tennis and racing his motorbike. He also enjoys studying poetry and philosophy, practicing his photography, and tasting fine wines during his many travels.
