Worldspan Forms Spanish Link

. October 14, 2008

SEPTEMBER 11, 2006. Spainexperience and Worldspan are signing a three-year agreement giving Spainexperience and its member travel agencies throughout Spain access to the Worldspan global distribution system (GDS).

In addition to subscribing to the Worldspan GDS for travel planning and procurement, the consortia will also take advantage of Worldspan e-Pricing(R), the travel industry's most advanced technology for shopping and booking low fares among the world's airlines.

"Worldspan offers unique advantages to travel agencies that will provide our members with opportunities to become more competitive and grow their businesses," said Fernando Canizares, chief executive officer of Spainexperience. "Unlike other GDSs, Worldspan does not compete with travel agencies as a travel retailer. By being a true partner and offering the latest technologies, Worldspan is a great fit for Spainexperience."

"We are keenly focused on introducing advanced solutions to travel agencies in Spain and providing the dedicated service and support they expect from a key technology provider," said Peter Cacioppo, Worldspan sales director - EMEA. "We welcome Spainexperience as our newest customer in the region and look forward to serving the evolving technology requirements of this thriving consortia in the years to come."

Spainexperience and its members gain access to the inventories, reservations, booking and ticketing capabilities of hundreds of travel suppliers worldwide using Worldspan Go!(R), the first browser-based system built exclusively for travel agencies. Go! integrates the scope and strengths of the Worldspan GDS with the latest technologies and Web solutions, and places them all on the travel agent's desktop for fast, convenient access.

Worldspan e-Pricing, introduced in Spain earlier this year, is an industry-leading shopping technology with the power to search millions of fares and hundreds of thousands of itinerary options to find the lowest available airfares for travelers. An average of 11.5 million e-Pricing queries are processed each day on behalf of Worldspan-connected travel retailers worldwide.
