Marcus Hotels to Manage Sheraton Clayton Plaza
MILWAUKEE, WI, / ST. LOUIS, MO, February 8, 2007. Marcus Hotels and Resorts, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS), today announced that it has signed an agreement to manage the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel St. Louis. The hotel will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation, beginning later this year. It is the fourth property added to the Marcus Hotels portfolio this fiscal year, with a fifth hotel under construction/renovation.
"We continue to aggressively seek new third-party management opportunities with our current owners, as well as with other hotel investors," said Bill Otto, president of Marcus Hotels and Resorts. "This hotel is in a very upscale suburb of western St. Louis in a highly visible location. With the completion of the planned renovation, the hotel will be in peak competitive condition to serve both business and leisure travelers. The Sheraton has approximately 18,000 square feet of meeting space and is well positioned for meeting and convention business, as well as for area social events."
The renovation will include improvements in every area of the hotel, with a focus on all guest rooms, food and beverage and public spaces.
Located at 7730 Bonhomme Ave., the hotel's amenities include an indoor swimming pool, expanded fitness facility, business center, concierge service and complimentary shuttle service to nearby Lambert International Airport. The Larz Salon, located on the lower level, is a full-service facility specializing in hair care, manicures and make-up. The hotel's 257 rooms and suites feature the Sheraton Suite Sleeper Bed, high-speed Internet access, and coffee makers.
