Golden Nugget Debuts with an Action-packed, Celebrity-filled Grand Opening Weekend
April 24, 2012 - The Golden Nugget Atlantic City will open its doors to much fanfare and excitement to celebrate its Grand Opening Thursday, April 26 - Sunday, April 29. Numerous special events are planned throughout the weekend to commemorate the opening of Atlantic City's revitalized world-class, premier resort destination offering several new signature restaurant concepts, a six million dollar salon and spa, plus new lounges and clubs for guests to enjoy.
The excitement kicks off on Thursday at 4 p.m. with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony that promises to open the Golden Nugget in style with owner, Tilman Fertitta. The afternoon is highlighted by the revealing of the world's largest gold nugget, the Hand of Faith, and a special cake presentation designed and created by the TLC's Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro, that replicates Atlantic City's Golden Nugget and Marina. The evening will conclude with a performance by Don't Call Me Francis in the Live Bar.
On Friday, Third Eye Blind, takes to the stage as they perform their latest hits live. Leading up to their performance, guests are invited to enjoy presentations at the new Spa, a meet and greet with Housewives of New Jersey, and a fireworks extravaganza. The action continues into the night with the opening of the ever-popular Deck as well as live entertainment by Star 69 in the Live Bar.
Saturday features TLC's popular Cake Boss, Buddy Valastro live on stage, as well as a standup show by comedian, actress, author, talk show host and political activist, Whoppi Goldberg. Philly's 97.5 The Fanatic will broadcast live from the property and bring in several celebrity athletes and Seven Stone will close the evening in the Live Bar after fireworks fly once again to celebrate the opening of the Golden Nugget.
Rounding out the weekend, guests will enjoy a live performance by country favorite, The Oak Ridge Boys on Sunday in the Grand Ballroom.
