Disney Swan and Dolphin Appoints Hotel Manager
FEBRUARY 15, 2007. Jim Hogg has been appointed hotel manager of the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort. He brings more than 17 years of hotel experience to his new role, returning to the resort where his hospitality career first started, as reservations manager of the pre-opening team in 1990.
Hogg returns to the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin at an exciting time, as the resort recently completed a $60 million redesign project which unveiled stunning new lobbies and public spaces, including a $500,000 contemporary art program. The transformation adds a fresh look to the resort's entertainment architecture, which was designed by Michael Graves as a part of former Disney CEO Michael Eisner's vision, while maintaining its original integrity. Select upper level guest rooms, which offer breathtaking views, will also receive a makeover and be converted into boardroom hospitality suites.
According to Peter Kacheris, general manager, "We are pleased to welcome Jim back to the place where his career began. His leadership and extensive background in numerous facets of hotel operations will be a tremendous asset to us. I look forward to working with him."
Hogg held various positions at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin for his first eight years in the industry, including assistant director of security, convention services manager, and director of reception. He then joined Westin Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida as director of rooms, followed by the Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa as director of Six Sigma. Most recently, Hogg served as general manager of the Sheraton Vistana Village Resort in Orlando.
Hogg's career includes numerous awards and accomplishments, including achieving the JD Power "Best in Class" Guest Satisfaction award for the resort division in numerous categories and achieving the highest company Guest Services scores.
