Kosmopolito Hotels Appoints Key Personnel for Grand Dorsett Chengdu
July 31, 2012 - Kosmopolito Hotel International (KHI) has appointed Mr. Bernard Lo as General Manager of Grand Dorsett Chengdu, which is scheduled to open in September 2012.
A well respected hotel professional who has more than 40 years of experience in the industry, Bernard was most recently the General Manager of Intercontinental Century City Chengdu, one of the most luxurious hotels in southwest China operated by the Intercontinental Hotels Group. His career has taken him around the world and he has worked with numerous upscale hotels in senior management capacity in Switzerland, Germany, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Beijing and many other key getaway cities. “With his experience and expertise, Bernard is certainly a great asset to the company. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and excellent understanding of the hospitality industry, especially in China and will play a key role in the successful operation of Grand Dorsett Chengdu ,” said Winnie Chiu, President and Executive Director of Kosmopolito Hotels International.
Joining Bernard is Edwin Ho , the Director of Finance for Grand Dorsett Chengdu. A seasoned hotelier with strong financial background, Edwin possessed more than 25 years of experience and has worked for various renowned hotels in China including Shangri-La Hotel Hangzhou and Jianguo Hotel in Beijing. Prior to his appointment at Grand Dorsett Chengdu, Edwin was the Chief Financial Officer of Silver Shores, Vietnam.
Helming the Sales & Marketing division is Calvin Ma as Director of Sales & Marketing. Calvin will be responsible for all hotel opening sales and marketing initiatives for the 556-room Grand Dorsett Chengdu. Calvin most recently served as Director of Business Development for Intercontinental Century City Chengdu.
Overseeing the entire food and beverage operation of the hotel is Director of Food & Beverage Operations, Sujith Shetty . Of Indian nationality, Sujith who has 14 years of food and beverage experience will be responsible in ensuring the highest quality food standards and profitability of the hotel's dining outlets, as well as corporate meetings execution and social catering/banquets. A graduate from Bombay majoring in hotel management, Sujith was most recently with American Hotel & Lodging Association before joining Grand Dorsett Chengdu.
Also onboard as Director of Rooms is Justin Lin . With years of experience within the hospitality industry, Justin has gained qualitative and enriching experience from his numerous hotel postings such as with Shangri-La Zhongshan, Holiday Inn Zhuhai, Intercontinental Century City Chengdu and most recently with the Holiday Inn Beijing Moonriver.
