Hyatt Place Fredericksburg Breaks Ground
Augusts 30, 2012 - The Mary Washington Hyatt Place, in Fredericksburg, VA recently broke ground with a scheduled opening of September 2013. Concord Eastridge is developing this hotel on behalf of their joint venture with the University of Mary Washington Foundation..
This 93-key, premium select-service hotel with approximately 2,000 SF of meeting space will serve the guests of the greater Fredericksburg area and, most conveniently, visitors of the Mary Washington Hospital and the University of Mary Washington.
“This hotel will be one of the highest-quality lodging assets in Fredericksburg and will be located directly in between the hospital and the university,” said Sonia Egyhazy, Investment Director for the ownership group Eagle Hospitality, LLC. “These two entities [the hospital and university] are top demand generators in a market where demand for guest rooms has consistently outpaced supply, notwithstanding the impressive growth in supply over the past seven years.”
The hotel is a portion of the second phase of the University of Mary Washington Foundation's Eagle Village redevelopment. Phase I, completed in 2010 by Concord Eastridge and Donley's Construction, includes 30,000 SF of office, 50,000 SF of retail, 600 beds of student housing and a 500 car parking deck. The first part of Phase II, a pedestrian-friendly connector road from Eagle Village to the Mary Washington Hospital, was completed in March 2012.
