IHG Opens Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa
October 10, 2012 - InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the opening of Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa, nestled at the lowest point on earth on the banks of the Dead Sea.
Guests in need of rest and relaxation will not be disappointed with the resort's vast 5,500m3 swimming pool, called 'The Lake' and the beach-side pool with infinity views. The 6,000m2 Thalgo Spa is the place to unwind with 30 treatment rooms, three indoor heated hydrotherapy pools, a Dead Sea salt water pool and gym. Guests can also enjoy Jordan's longest stretch of private beach at 408 meters below sea level.
Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa, with its 420 rooms, including a Presidential Suite and Royal Suite, is just 30 minutes away from the capital Amman and 45 minutes from Queen Alia International Airport.
“Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort & Spa is a very special place,” said IHG's Pascal Gauvin, chief operating officer, India, Middle East and Africa. “The leisure and spa facilities have to be seen to be believed and it won't be long before the resort becomes one of Jordan's most popular places to escape to.”
The resort's eight bars and restaurants cater for all tastes, including Burj Al Hamam serving traditional Lebanese dishes, a Latin American restaurant and the Aqua Pool Bar. Guests can also wander down The Promenade where they will find an amphitheater, Kid's Club and cafe.
With uninterrupted views of the sea, the hotel's meeting and event facilities include the Obadas ballroom, which can hold up to 600 people, as well as two smaller meeting rooms which cater for up to 50 people.
The resort is the third Crowne Plaza to open in Jordan, joining Crowne Plaza Petra and Crowne Plaza Amman. IHG now have seven hotels in the country including Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort and the renowned InterContinental Jordan.
