Gold Mountain Golf Club to Join Columbia Hospitality's Portfolio

Seattle-based hospitality management and consulting firm welcomes Bremerton's premier golf club

SEATTLE - October 15, 2012 - Seattle-based hospitality management and consulting firm Columbia Hospitality, Inc., announces a new management and operational agreement with the City of Bremerton to manage Gold Mountain Golf Club, effective January 1, 2013. Located in the celebrated Olympic Peninsula in Bremerton, Washington, this championship 36-hole golf complex joins Columbia Hospitality's portfolio as the inaugural golf course management endeavor. This is the Columbia's fifth management acquisition in just over one year.

Bremerton city council voted Wednesday, October 3, in favor of Columbia and work started October 4 with the present management group as they transition through the end of the year. While the club will be under new management, veteran leadership including Head Professional Daryl Matheny and Greens Superintendent Ed Faulk will be retained.

Of the management transition, Daryl Matheny anticipates great things. “My staff and I embrace the opportunity to work with Columbia Hospitality in beginning this new chapter here at Gold Mountain Golf Club. We have always been known as a world-class course, but now under the guidance and hospitality expertise of Columbia, the future looks even brighter.” Matheny will work under Columbia's management as the Director of Golf.

The award-winning Gold Mountain Golf Club is situated a few short miles from the Bremerton waterfront with a variety of amenities including two championship golf courses, diverse event and meeting space, striking views and the delicious fare of Tucker's Restaurant. Both highly prized courses, the Olympic and the Cascade, are built on a natural watershed with varying levels of difficulty. The grounds also feature four practice putting greens and a 100 yard-wide grass tee practice facility with chipping, pitching and bunker accommodations.
