Greenwood Hospitality Group Acquires Historic Gunter Hotel in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO - November 7, 2012 - Greenwood Hospitality Group today, on behalf of 205 East Houston Street, LLC, announced the acquisition of the Sheraton Gunter Hotel located in San Antonio, TX. Greenwood's principal Aik Hong Tan made the announcement.
Developed in 1909, the iconic Gunter Hotel San Antonio was the City's largest building at the time. Situated in the heart of downtown, the property features 322 guestrooms, 23,000 square feet of meeting and conference room space, Barron's Restaurant, the famous Gunter Bakery and additional casual restaurant and lounge options. The hotel is situated adjacent to the San Antonio Riverwalk and is proximate to an array of shopping and dining choices.
In the coming months, Greenwood will coordinate a multi-million dollar renovation that will include updates and additions to all guestrooms, as well as improvements to all meeting, public and dining spaces.
