Radisson Blu Nantes Opens in France
Historic Structure 19th Century Palais de Justice Building Now Luxury Hotel
November 30, 2012 - The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hotel groups worldwide and a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, today opens Radisson Blu Nantes, France.
Housed in the former Court of Justice (Palais de Justice), the company's newest flagship debuts after a five-year renovation to an elegant, 1851-era building that served as the Nantes Court of Law until 2000. Radisson Blu Nantes has 142 guestrooms, a restaurant in the former grand courtroom as well as a spa and hammam.
Inspired by the classical façade, architect Jacques Cholet (DTACC) and interior designer Jean-Philippe Nuel combined the 19th Century architectural features with contemporary interiors. The 142 guestrooms, including 15 junior suites and five suites, have earth tones and white furniture exclusively designed for the hotel, as well as contemporary art that references the French masterpieces in museums of Nantes, spacious bathrooms, and signature Radisson Blu services like complimentary high speed internet.
Restaurant L'Assise is located in the former courtroom, and its wine cave in the former trial judge's chambers. In the evening, modern video installations are projected across the walls of the dining room. The accompanying Le Preambule bar serves cocktails and wines by the glass, and also has a “white wing” surrounded by grandiose columns that can be used as a private hosting table.
Radisson Blu Nantes also has six meeting rooms that can accommodate 95 and range from 400 to 800 square feet. Its 2,100-square-foot wellness center has spa suites, a hammam, sauna and a modern gym.
The birthplace of Jules Verne, Nantes is a cultural haven of history and modern art located on the Loire in Western France. Nantes attractions such as the Fine Arts Museum, undergoing a major expansion due for completion in 2013, as well as the Château des Ducs de Bretagne, are within walking distance to the new Radisson Blu. The train station is under a mile from the hotel, and the airport six miles.
Opening room rates range from 145 to 315 EUR per room per night.
