Amanresorts Debuts Amano'i on Vietnam's Vinh Hy Bay
July 25, 2013 - Amanresorts, the Singapore-based luxury hotel group, announced today that it will launch Amano'i on Vinh Hy Bay on the beach of Vietnam's East Sea, on September 1. The contemporary beach resort, consisting of 31 pavilions and five Aman Villas with magnificent views, will be Amanresorts' 26th property and its first in Vietnam, continuing the group's Southeast Asian expansion beyond its sister properties in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
Named for the Sanskrit-derived word for "peace" and no'i, meaning "place" in Vietnamese, Amano'i is a tranquil retreat situated on a white-sand beach overlooking secluded Vinh Hy Bay on the coast northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. The drive to Amano'i takes guests through Nui Chua National Park, one of Vietnam's largest natural conservation sites which protects an area of nearly 72,000 acres of pristine coastal and marine habitats (including at least 1,500 plant species, 160 bird species and 60 species of mammals). Guests enter the resort via a broad bank of stairs leading to the hilltop Central Pavilion (inspired by a traditional Vietnamese communal hall) and houses the Restaurant, Bar and an expansive terrace.
Guest accommodations at Amano'i, designed by architect Jean-Michel Gathy to fuse contemporary elegance with traditional Vietnamese styles, boast spectacular views of either Nui Chua National Park, the lake on the property, or Vinh Hy Bay. Pavilions are identical in layout and design, a number with private swimming pools, and each offers a combined living and sleeping area, as well as a timber sundeck with sun loungers. Each Aman Villa at Amano'i consists of four or five free-standing bedroom pavilions, as well as living and dining pavilions and a large private swimming pool; a live-in housekeeper and cook meet all guests' needs, including the preparation of Vietnamese or Western cuisine in the villa's private kitchen.
Set beside a lotus-filled lake, the extensive Aman Spa at Amano'i provides a serene setting for relaxation, including five double treatment rooms, all with unique double bathtubs, private dressing areas and showers; two hydrotherapy suites; hand and foot therapy rooms; and a hair and finishing salon. The extensive Aman Spa menu offers body treatments, scrubs, wraps, facials and hair care using Aman Spa's chemical-free spa product range, which is complemented by traditional Vietnamese ingredients such as aromatic herbs, rice and coffee.
The resort's Library offers a range of reading materials in several languages, together with a music collection and board games, while the Boutique features a selection of traditional Vietnamese lacquerware, handmade jewelry and local bronze, copper, pottery and ceramic crafts. Rounding out the guest amenities at Amano'i are a spacious Gymnasium, Pilates Studio, lakeside Yoga Pavilion, two outdoor tennis courts and two pools--one cliffside and another at the resort's Beach Club, where guests can also dine and enjoy watersports such as snorkeling, kayaking and Hobie Cats in Vinh Hy Bay.
