Blumberg to Add 10 Marriott-Branded Hotels
DOTHAN, AL, February 27, 2007. In its continuing focus on growth, the Larry Blumberg & Associates (LBA) lodging portfolio will increase by at least 10 properties when the hotels - all Marriott-branded - open later this year.
Referring to the company's "most active pipeline yet," Barry Kraselsky, president of LBA - which manages and develops hotels in the southeast U.S. - listed the following Marriott-branded hotels currently being developed by LBA: two Courtyards, in Prattville and Trussville, Ala.; a SpringHill Suites in Columbus, Ga.; two TownePlace Suites hotels, in Huntsville, Ala. and Columbus, Ga.; and a Residence Inn in Dothan, Ala.
In addition, LBA has been selected to manage four other properties, all new builds: two Fairfield Inn & Suites, in Jacksonville and Marianna, Fla.; a TownePlace Suites in Jacksonville N.C.; and a Residence Inn in Greensboro, N.C.
Kraselsky announced in December that LBA was transitioning to a 100% third-party management company through internal development and with multiple-deal developers, and that LBA's portfolio will grow to 50 managed hotels by year-end 2007.
He said that the company continues to actively consult with owners and developers on additional projects. "LBA's 30-year experience in ownership, development and management is very attractive to owners and developers looking for a respected third-party management company that will run their hotel as if they owned it," he said. "Because we 'grew up' as owner/operators, we continue to manage that way."
