AMELIA ISLAND, FL - April 17, 2014 - The Omni Amelia Island Plantation, an oceanfront retreat, located just north of Jacksonville, Fla., has named Mary O'Donnell as the general manager.

O'Donnell will supervise and participate in the operations of the 404-room luxury oceanfront resort in order to achieve desired sales and profit goals. She will reinforce Omni Amelia Island Plantation's coveted status as an award-winning island destination while maintaining a high degree of guest satisfaction.

With more than 25 years of hotel management and conference services experience, O'Donnell joins Omni Amelia Island Plantation most recently from The Ritz-Carlton South Beach in Miami, where she served as hotel manager. Previously, she was director of operations for The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale, as well as director of catering and conference services for renowned properties including The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach and The Hyatt Regency Baltimore, where she implemented more personalized and professional service that heightened the over-all guest experience.

Specializing in catering, conference services and event management for multiple Ritz-Carlton properties, O'Donnell achieved high-ranking satisfaction scores within the consumer and employee spectrum for The Ritz-Carlton South Beach and The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale.

A hotel management graduate of Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind., O'Donnell began working in catering sales with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. She continually implemented improvements within internal operations and redesign for multiple Hyatt locations including The Hyatt Regency Baltimore, The Hyatt Regency Tampa, The Hyatt Regency New Brunswick and The Grand Hyatt New York.
