Wavecrest Hotels & Resorts Welcomes Michael Swyney as VP of Sales and Marketing
CARLSBAD, CA - August 13, 2014 - Wave Crest Hotels & Resorts announces the addition of Michael Swyney to its management team. As the hospitality company's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Swyney will oversee the sales efforts and marketing initiatives for the Hilton Garden Inn Carlsbad Beach and Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa, a AAA Four Diamond property. With over 30 years in hospitality, Swyney brings a wealth of management experience to his new role at the Southern California properties.
Managing the coordination of sales, marketing, and public relations efforts, Swyney's key focus will be on generating revenue for the both Wavecrest Carlsbad properties through transient and group bookings, in addition to meetings and special events. Quickly moving up through the ranks, Swyney accumulated more than 15 years of experience within the food and beverage arena, giving him a solid operations background before making the decision to shift his career into sales and marketing. Throughout his career, Swyney has gained experience at hotels all along the coast of California, in Texas, Oregon, Arizona, Colorado, and New Jersey. Most recently, he served as director of sales and marketing at the Hilton San Diego Resort & Spa on Mission Bay.
