Taj Safaris Reopens Luxury Lodges for Winter Season
October 13, 2014 - Taj Safaris' luxury wildlife lodges in India, Mahua Kothi, Baghvan, Banjaar Tola and Pashan Garh will reopen for the winter season on October 15th 2014 with a series of new themed experiences.
Guests are invited to embrace the magic of Madhya Pradesh and enjoy 'Soul Safaris', a series of bespoke adventures that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Indian jungle. On a Taj Safari experience, travelers can leave daily stresses behind and reconnect with their inner Mowgli.
Set in the very place that inspired Kipling to write The Jungle Book, 120 years ago, this thrilling safari sees guests driving across the Bandavgarh, Pench, Kanha and Panna National Parks. Close encounters with a host of furry residents, including two of the big five, elephants and Bengal tigers, may also be on the schedule.
Accompanied by a trained naturalist, guests can watch the daily jungle spectacular play out in front of them. On the night walks at Pashan Garh and Banjaar Tola, eager-eyed visitors can see an array of rare wildlife, such as owls and night jars and hear the calls of the skitter.
At Pashan Garh guests can also embark on a fascinating twilight journey with infrared cameras, which give the opportunity to see the nightly unseen, including leopards, hyenas, porcupines, jackals and civets. For those who seek a different perspective on jungle life, elephant-back safaris can also be arranged at Banjaar Tola.
Activities at the lodges are designed to allow guests the opportunity to reconnect with nature and rejuvenate in the midst of this Indian heartland. Offering yoga sessions and invigorating massage treatments in the wilderness, each Taj Safari lodge is equipped to help soothe your soul.
Taj Safaris place great emphasis on organic and locally sourced food. At each of the lodges guests can share the Chef's enthusiasm for growing organic vegetables with a visit to the onsite vegetable garden and sample the delights of Indian gastronomy, inspired by Chhattisgarh regional dishes. Lunches can turn into one-of-a-kind adventure picnics in the beating heart of the forest, lulled by the sounds of nature. In the evenings, the lodge chef may invite guests to take part in an impromptu local cooking lesson before dinner, served in the forest, romantically lit by hundreds of lanterns.
Traditional dancing and singing accompany this otherworldly experience in this wildlife sanctuary. Guests can also spend a rewarding time engaging with local communities and take a hands-on approach in experiencing the vibrant culture and tradition of Madhya Pradesh. Whether it's getting involved in the daily running of a local school and attending conservation lessons for children, or visiting a village home to distribute solar lanterns, Taj Safaris operate various programs to protect the fragile communities and environment.
