Water's Edge Resort & Spa Expands Senior Management
WESTBROOK, CT - February 13, 2014 - The Water's Edge Resort & Spa, a classic New England estate with 190 rooms located directly on the Connecticut shoreline in Westbrook, CT, announces the appointment of Thomas Sullivan as general manager and Nestor Sanchez as food and beverage director. Both will play key roles in the newly revamped food and beverage offerings centered around a restaurant renovation set to debut this spring.
A hotel and hospitality veteran of more than 20 years, Sullivan will be responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Water's Edge Resort & Spa. Prior to joining the team, he was the general manager at the Colcord Hotel in Oklahoma City, OK.
Past experience includes director of operations-corporate office for Dolce Hotels and Resorts where he provided support to the Dolce Seaview Hotel in New Jersey as well as the Ravella Hotel is Lake Las Vegas. Sullivan has also worked for Omni and Marriott Hotels in a number of locations across the country such as Beverly Hills, New Orleans, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Westchester, Atlanta and New York City, holding a variety of positions.
As food and beverage director, Sanchez will oversee all food and beverage operations of the resort. Prior to Water's Edge, Sanchez was director of food and beverage at the Crowne Plaza in Saddle Brook, NJ, where he oversaw the pre-opening team for a 168 room hotel with three culinary outlets that was scheduled to open in September 2014.
Sanchez brings more than 20 years of hospitality and culinary experience to the Water's Edge Resort & Spa. Prior to the Crowne Plaza in Saddle Brook, he worked at a number of hotels around the country including the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne in Miami, FL, Renaissance Vinoy Resort & Golf Club in St. Petersburg, FL, Harbor Beach Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, FL and Renaissance Westchester Hotel in White Plains, NY.
