APRIL 5, 2007. A touch of the Italian Alps comes to Vail Village late this summer when the 207-room Vail Plaza Hotel & Club opens its doors. The first hotel to open directly in the heart of Vail Village in more than 40 years, The Vail Plaza will provide guests with a boutique experience and luxury services and amenities just steps from the slopes and outdoor activities.

'We will offer all of the extra special amenities and services that seasoned travelers have come to expect and with a wide range of accommodations we are the ideal option for couples, families or groups who are seeking an upscale hotel choice in the heart of the Village.'

The Vail Plaza Hotel & Club will feature an array of upscale accommodations from standard guestrooms up to four-bedroom suites. All suites are outfitted with full gourmet kitchens perfect for in-suite entertaining complete with a private chef. Guests will experience luxurious in-room touches such as Egyptian cotton sheets, cozy feather beds, nightly turn down amenities, marble bathrooms, and windows that frame exceptional mountain views. The architectural scale of the Vail Plaza Hotel & Club is reminiscent of structures found in the Italian Alps complete with dramatic copper towers and rooftops, gables and impressive stone work. The property features seven stories laced with decks, balconies and theatrical windows. Interiors boast stone fireplaces, handcrafted chandeliers and beamed ceilings.

For the steadfast gourmand, Vail Plaza Hotel & Club will house two restaurants, Ristorante Da Vinci featuring fine dining, gourmet Italian fare and world renowned wines, and Galileo providing hearty American fare in a lively atmosphere ideal for families and large groups. For apr`es ski fun and evening entertainment, Bacco's Lounge will welcome guests with live entertainment and an impressive list of wines, cocktails, beer and gourmet snacks.

Pampering and spiritual rejuvenation will be found at the hotel's Sorrento Spa featuring five treatment rooms. The full service spa will extend a high-end, innovative menu of body and facial treatments utilizing exceptional products for both ladies and gentlemen. Special menu items will include couples treatments and revitalizing therapies to promote inner warmth (after a day on the slopes!) and nourishment of the body, mind and soul.
