AAA Awards Four Diamonds to 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel

. July 07, 2015

1000 Islands Harbor Hotel , the brand new full-service hotel perched on the St. Lawrence River in the Thousand Islands region, has earned a Four Diamond status from the Automobile Association of America (AAA). The hotel is one of only 24 hotels in upstate New York to earn the distinction. Opened in July 2014, 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel joins its sister properties, the Portland Harbor Hotel in Portland, Maine, and the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen, New York, both with Four Diamond ratings. All three Harbor Hotels are managed by Buffalo-based Hart Hotels.

“This is a great honor and echoes the commitment and dedication of the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel staff to providing an exceptional guest experience,” said David Hart, President and CEO of Hart Hotels. “The 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel is the first major new full-service hotel to be built in the 1000 Islands in three decades. We believe the hotel is perfectly positioned to recapture the glory of this wonderful region and set new benchmarks for service and accommodations”.

Among the most renowned and respected trademarks in the global travel industry, the AAA Four Diamond status is one of five possible diamond ratings given by the travel authority, which conducts annual evaluations of hotels and restaurants across North America. According to AAA, the Four Diamond rating is reserved for properties that are “refined, stylish with upscale physical attributes, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.” Only 5.4% of hotels in the nation make the Four Diamond list.

In addition to deluxe accommodations, 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel features fine and casual dining options, an on-site concierge, nightly turn-down service, an indoor swimming pool, fully equipped business and fitness centers, and state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor function space for sophisticated meetings and elegant social events with river views. Its riverfront location in the historic town of Clayton puts guests just minutes from renowned vineyards, quaint shops, exceptional museums and performing arts centers, and a wealth of outdoor activities, from river cruises to kayaking, fishing, hiking and golf. Canada is just a bridge away. For more information visit www.1000IslandsHarborHotel.com or call 315-686-1100.
