Windsor Hospitaltiy Group's Dawson Hubert is the Head of Their Windsor Management Services

. October 14, 2008

SANTA MONICA, CA, August 18, 2005."Working in the hospitality industry is a onetime, forever career for me. I started at age 14 with bussing tables and never had any desire to get out of it." That is how Dawson Hubert opens a conversation about the path that led to his appointment as Windsor Management Services's Managing Director. He has spent most of his life in this career and most of his career with Windsor. Hubert's professional accomplishments and overall attitude do not leave much room to question why Windsor selected him to lead their new corporate entity that is dedicated to third-party management contracts.

"I have an exceptionally strong operations background and have performed all aspects of hotel operations in both good and bad economic situations." However the distinguishing characteristic to Hubert's approach, he says, is he brings a strong ownership mentality to the table and can relate well with owners and their primary desires. That is characteristic of Windsor as a whole. Windsor Management Services offers management with an ownership attitude, he says, that distinguishes WMS from other management companies.

Frankly, Hubert admits, he has been known for his strength in finding the most practical and effective way to meet a brand's requirements while satisfying the owner's concerns. Hubert spent six years flying helicopters for the US Army and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross for his service in Vietnam. He then graduated from Michigan State University and returned to the hospitality industry. His career has taken him from Michigan to Oregon, Colorado, Texas and Virginia.

However, he says, "The pinnacle of my career in hospitality before Windsor was as F&B director at the five star Williamsburg Inn in Williamsburg, Virginia. "In 1988, my family and I moved to Colorado Springs where I joined Windsor Hospitality Group as General Manager at their Embassy Suites. I have been with Windsor for nearly 20 years now."

In the last few years he has been WHG's Regional Vice President, overseeing their properties in the southwest. He has also been integral to their Windsor Management Services division from its inception.

As WMS Managing Director, Hubert says, "I am presently responsible for the pre-opening consultation and services at a Homewood Suites in La Quinta, Calif., as well as the adjoining 164 Casitas." Centre Point Development is developing the project and it is scheduled to open in late summer 2006.

WMS and Hubert spend considerable time prospecting for new third-party management contracts with mid-to-upscale hotels "that are looking for the innovative management that WMS can provide, with full support from Windsor Hospitality Group," he says.

WHG has developed, manages and/or owns 27 full-service brand name hotels across the country. They include, but are not limited to Embassy Suites, Marriott and Renaissance brands. "The La Quinta project is the WIndsor Companies' first Homewood Suites, but this is a project in which we are involved from the ground up," Hubert says. With WHG's and Hubert's experience, prospects for this property look promising.
