Degree Metropolitan Food + Drink Now Open at SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown

. October 29, 2015

Degree Metropolitan Food + Drink - Denver's newest gathering place that blends new school drinks with old school handcrafted food - is now open on the MSU Denver campus.

Located inside the SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown at MSU Denver, Degree serves lunch and dinner daily from 10:30 a.m. - 10 p.m., with the bar staying open until midnight every night except for Sunday.

Students from MSU Denver's Department of Hospitality, Tourism & Events are working alongside professional restaurateurs at Degree, earning real-life experience in restaurant operations and management. A portion of all meals at Degree - including lunch, dinner and bar sales - go towards the MSU Denver Foundation, which benefits student scholarships.

Degree serves a globally inspired, yet approachable menu that is thoughtfully sourced, featuring Colorado meats, ethically caught seafood and local produce. Degree's menu starts with SHARE items, including the Board of Directors featuring a selection of Colorado sausages, house pickles and grilled crostini for $14, followed by GREENS, including a Colorado Cobb for $10 and a Soba Noodle Salad for $10 and a variety of sandwiches and ramen bowls. ENTREES are served starting at 4:30 p.m. daily, including Harissa Chicken for $15, Gnocchi Salmon for $18 and Colorado Drunken Noodles for $12.

Degree offers an extensive bar menu, pouring 16 wines by the glass from a temperature controlled Cruvinet wine system and 20 Colorado craft beers - including Tivoli Brewing Company's Helles Lager, Left Hand's Nitro Milk Stout and Great Divide's Whitewater Wheat Ale.

Degree also serves an inventive list of handcrafted cocktails made from local spirits, including a Rosemary Salty Dog made with CapRock Gin and grapefruit juice for $7 and the Pickled Goat, made with Peachstreet Distillers Goat Vodka and pickled fresno juice for $9.

Degree is led by Executive Chef Daniel Hyman. Chef Hyman started cooking at age 12 and received his culinary degree from the Cooking & Hospitality Institute of Chicago. He has trained and cooked aside top Chicago chefs, including Alex Cheswick, Stephanie Izard and Jacky Pluton. After gaining experience with Starwood and Hyatt hotels, Chef Hyman joined Sage Restaurant Group's The Corner Office before opening the SpringHill Suites Denver Downtown in 2012 with Sage Hospitality.

Located close to the Pepsi Center, Sports Authority Field at Mile High, Larimer Square, the Colorado Convention Center and more, Degree features a modern 48-seat dining room including 15 seats overlooking the open kitchen.
