Fort Lauderdale, FL - January 5, 2016 - The Westin Fort Lauderdale, situated in Fort Lauderdale/Pompano Beach area, overlooking a beautiful, three-acre lagoon, announces a new senior sales team, including Deanna Sylvestri as director of group sales and Matthew Echevarria as director of catering and conference services, following the finalization of a multi-million guestroom renovation.

Sylvestri, an accomplished hospitality industry sales leader and most recently a senior sales manager at GALLERYone Fort Lauderdale - A DoubleTree Guest Suites, will utilize her vast knowledge of target markets to cultivate profitable relationships and creative customer experiences. While managing the group sales team, her responsibilities include overseeing all daily operations to maximize revenue through prospective sales opportunities, with a focus on business transient and corporate group sales.
Sylvestri is an active member of the community, including being a Board Member of the Pride Center at Equality Park. She actively networks with the Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties to give The Westin Fort Lauderdale more visibility. She brings forth more than 14 years of hospitality industry experience, and has worked with Interstate Hotels, Hospitality American and Hilton Hotels Worldwide.

With more than ten years of experience, Matthew Echevarria, Certified Wedding & Event Planner (CWEP) and Certified Meeting Planner (CMP), is an accomplished professional in event planning and management. Prior to joining The Westin Fort Lauderdale, Echevarria most recently served as a senior event sales manager at The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress, where he was responsible for driving catering sales and operations.
Striving to create a distinct customer experience, as director of catering and conference services, Echevarria ensures guests are aware of today's catering trends, while piecing together an individual's unique vision for their event. His responsibilities include increasing revenue and generating leads for the hotel's wedding and social catering business. From extravagant arranged rooms to deliciously, tailored-themed cuisine, no details are overlooked from Echevarria and his team.
