National Park Service Awards Xanterra Parks & Resorts Rocky Mountain National Park Concession Contract
ESTES PARK, CO. October 26, 2016 - The National Park Service announced today the selection of Xanterra Parks & Resorts, Inc. for the concessions contract at Rocky Mountain National Park.
The contract is valid for ten years, beginning in January 2017, and allows Xanterra to provide retail and food and beverage services at Rocky Mountain National Park's Trail Ridge Store. The store is located at a breath-taking 12,000 feet in elevation at the mid-way point of Trail Ridge Road - a scenic “highway in the sky” in the heart of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is an ideal location for perusing gifts, apparel, and regional and Native American crafts, as well as pausing for a meal or quick snack.
“Xanterra has a strong partnership with the National Park Service and is looking forward to providing the finest merchandise at the Trail Ridge Store, including a variety of local items and a new menu ripe with locally-sourced and sustainable food and beverages,” said Andrew Todd, CEO, Xanterra Parks & Resorts. “We're also excited to raise awareness of the impacts of climate change at Rocky Mountain National Park through a variety of guest interactions, educating guests on how they can have a softer footprint on the environment during their visit to the Park and after they return home.”
