Leonardo Hotels to Develop New Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam Set for Autumn 2018 Opening

BERLIN, DE./AMSTERDAM, NL. October 27, 2016 - Leonardo Hotels is continuing its course of expansion in the Netherlands with a major project in Amsterdam. A 4-star superior hotel is planned in the district of Overamstel. The new Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam will be situated in a modern new building - comprising 19 floors - in a top central location. The ideal public transport links are worth special mention; the city centre is only a 5-minute tram ride away. Nestled between the park and harbour with attractive residential areas, cafes and restaurants, the hotel will be a wonderful addition to the city. The property will be developed under the responsibility of Adriaan Van Erk Groep and Slavenburg Bouw B.V., and its completion is planned for autumn 2018.

“Our entry into the Dutch market with our first hotel in April this year shows that we have been able to successfully position ourselves in the location in a very short space of time. And this was just the beginning: the Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam is now our next important step”, explains Daniel Roger, Managing Director of Leonardo Hotels Europe. Dr A.H.A. van Erk, Director of Adriaan van Erk Groep, adds: “From the outset, we were able to carry out the project with Leonardo Hotels while enjoying excellent coordination and collaboration. The whole team has ensured that we create a highly efficient building distinguished by compelling design and functionality.”

The venue will be embraced by the Leonardo Royal upscale brand and will represent a new style of hotel - featuring unmistakeable character, original local touches which complement the destination, fresh, innovative design, an elegant interior and a harmonious colour concept. Interior designer Andreas Neudahm is responsible for the particular style of the hotel. Unique designer furniture, an eclectic colour scheme, as well as extensive pictures and original accessories will also provide a welcoming atmosphere perceptible to all the senses, making the hotel a feel-good experience for guests. The 493 rooms also include five suites located on the 19th floor, guaranteeing a fantastic view of the city. A spacious open lobby with a bar, lounge and the hotel's own themed restaurant are accommodated on the ground floor. The conference area is found on the second floor. A ballroom spanning over 900 square metres and three adjacent meeting rooms provide the ideal conditions for hosting any kind of event. Additional facilities include the fitness and sauna area. Next to the hotel a parking garage is realized with 170 parking spaces.
