Michelin-starred Restaurant Receives Maître d' of the Year Accolade and Earns 18 Points

AMSTERDAM, NL. November 30, 2016 - Restaurant Vinkeles at The Dylan, the refined luxury boutique hotel centrally located in Amsterdam's trendy “nine streets” shopping area received top honors at the 2016 Gault & Millau Awards ceremony held earlier this month in Utrecht, The Netherlands.

Recognizing the fine dining restaurant's ongoing commitment to gastronomic excellence, the respected culinary guide named Vinkeles' restaurant manager, Casper Westerveld as Gault & Millau's Maître d' of the Year. Westerveld joined The Dylan in 2006 as an assistant restaurant manager, quickly moving up the ranks to restaurant manager in 2007.

This year, Vinkeles earned 18 points, amplifying its Gault & Milau score to become one of only eight restaurants in The Netherlands with this esteemed ranking.

Similar to the ambiance of the hotel, Restaurant Vinkeles is blend of classic and modern, set in a sunken dining room surrounded by original 18th century ovens that once served as a bakery for the Catholic Poor Peoples Office. Executive Chef Dennis Kuipers, well known for impeccably combining contemporary international cuisine with traditional French gastronomy, brings Vinkeles to life with inspired dishes made from the freshest seasonal ingredients.

In addition, this fall, U.S. News & World Report recognized The Dylan as one of the “Best Amsterdam Hotels,” ranking sixth in the category. The luxury hotel also named seventh in the “Best Netherlands Hotels” category. Both awards were announced as part of U.S. News & World Report's Inaugural Best Hotels in Europe Rankings.
