. October 14, 2008

MIAMI, FL, August 19, 2005, Business, community and government VIPs joined Mr. and Mrs. George Zaczac, Sr. president of South Florida Hotels, Inc., to mark the official grand opening of the Sheraton Miami Mart Hotel during the "Passport to Celebrate" event on Aug. 17. The event's theme highlighted the property's proximity to Miami International Airport, which is a major entry point for the city's international business.

"Sheraton is the number one hotel brand in the U.S. and Latin America and reflagging seemed a natural transition for this property," said Zaczac. "Our strong presence close to Miami International Airport, one of South Florida's most in-demand business destinations, will make us an important addition to the brand's portfolio."

Upon arrival, invited guests received a "passport" welcoming them to experience the various elements of the hotel, which recently completed an extensive $8 million renovation. Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed live entertainment, open bars and delectable international fare.

Some 400 guests then gathered in the ballroom for the evening's program followed by an elaborate buffet dinner. General Manager Alan Cristantiello noted the property's transformation and thanked those who gathered to help celebrate the grand opening.

To culminate the presentation, Roddy Gomez from the office of Carlos Alvarez, Mayor of Miami-Dade County, presented Zaczac a proclamation and declared the day as Sheraton Miami Mart Day.

The hotel's renovation included several enhancements that brought the new 334-guestrooms and suites property to Sheraton standards, including newly furnished guestrooms featuring Sheraton's signature Sweet Sleeper Bed, a luxurious nine-layer custom designed bed that features an 11.5 inch thick plush mattress and crisp sheets. Additionally, upgrades were made to all meeting, common areas and exterior areas. Also, the restaurant and bar, which were redesigned, received new names - Navio Bar and Escuna Restaurant.

The convention center has operated since 1967 and was joined under the Radisson name when the hotel opened in 1984. The Mart, which has been synonymous with the hotel and long recognized as a Miami landmark, has been in existence since the early 1970s. It represents the premier wholesale shopping destination for thousands of local, national and international retail buyers.
