Gensler Welcomes New Co-Managing Director for Its Houston Office

Hunter Clayton Returns to Co-Lead the Gensler Houston Office With Stephanie Burritt

USA, Houston, Texas. July 02, 2018

Gensler, the world's largest architecture and design firm, announces a strategic role change within its Houston office. Hunter Clayton, a native Houstonian and former Principal at Gensler, will rejoin the firm and co-lead with Stephanie Burritt as the Houston office's Co-Managing Directors, effective July 30.

"Hunter and Stephanie will make a strong team that will drive design innovation, motivate and inspire our great talent within the Houston office," said Judy Pesek, Regional Managing Principal of Gensler's South Central Region.

Clayton previously served seven years as Principal in Gensler's Santa Monica and Las Vegas offices and most recently served as an executive with MGM Resorts International. Having worked in the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Asia, and the United States, Clayton brings invaluable large-scale project experience, a global perspective, and tremendous leadership skills to the Houston office.

"I am excited to return, to see old friends I haven't connected with for a few years, and to cultivate new relationships in the Houston office, the Houston community and throughout Gensler," said Clayton, who holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston and a degree in Construction Management from Texas A&M University. "My years with Gensler gave me clarity in dealing with very complex puzzles. Our emphasis on 'culture' is the cement needed for a strong foundation of entrepreneurial creativity and personal growth. Leadership within the Firm fosters this principle at every level."

Gerald Gehm, the office's former Co-Managing Director, will shift roles to become the Regional Client Relationship Leader, over the firm's Houston, Austin, Dallas and San Antonio offices. He will oversee the all-important approach Gensler takes to providing outstanding customer support.

Earlier in his career, Clayton oversaw the largest privately funded mixed-use project in the United States, CityCenter, an $8.4 billion project in Las Vegas that was completed in 2009. He recently completed MGM Cotai, a $3.5 billion integrated resort development in Macau SAR, China. In addition to his extensive hospitality design experience, Clayton brings substantial leadership experience in aviation design, including work on the four-million square foot Dubai International Airport and the three-million square foot King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
