Gensler's New Leadership Duo Prepared to Elevate Design Culture in Office, Houston

Clayton, Burritt Join Forces to Lead Houston's Largest Architecture Firm

USA, Houston, Texas. August 01, 2018

Gensler, the world's largest architecture and design firm, welcomes Hunter Clayton as the Co-Managing Director of the Houston office alongside Stephanie Burritt. Clayton, a native Houstonian, rejoins Gensler following 10 years with the firm's Santa Monica and Las Vegas offices and seven years as an executive with MGM Resorts International.

Over his 30-year career, Clayton has worked at every stage of project development on some of the largest and most complicated assignments across multiple industries. Still, he cites his years with Gensler as having built a strong foundation for creativity, growth, leadership and problem solving.

"Great design must be the benchmark for any project, however, delivering it successfully is founded on humility, hard work, relationships, trust, collaboration and passion. Mixing these key ingredients with a culture that allows individuals to excel and maximize excellence in their performance has always been the most elusive factor," Clayton said.

Clayton joins Burritt, who has been with the firm for 28 years and has served as Co-Managing Director of the Houston office since 2016.

"The importance of understanding Gensler culture is particularly critical at the Managing Director level, so the fact that Hunter already knows and appreciates our culture is a tremendous advantage," Burritt said. "His leadership experience speaks volumes and I look forward to leading collaboratively with Hunter."

The Houston office of Gensler - the second office of the global, 46-office firm - has been making an impact in the community since opening in downtown's Pennzoil Place more than 45 years ago.

"Hunter and Stephanie will make a strong team, driving design innovation for our Houston clients while motivating and inspiring our great talent," said Judy Pesek, Gensler's South Central Regional Managing Principal. The South Central Region includes Gensler's offices in Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.
