Ahead of November 2018 Opening, California’s Moxy San Diego Appoints Executive Team
Opening this November 2018 as the first California hotel under Marriott International's experiential, millennial-minded Moxy Hotels brand, the 126-room Moxy San Diego announces its executive team to lead the bold, yet playful, boutique hotel. Designed for the next generation of travelers, Moxy San Diego will embrace the destination's coastal roots while showcasing the eclectic and vibrancy of downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter.
Leading the team as Captain - the brand's twist on the traditional General Manager position - will be Lindsay Jones who will oversee all facets of the day-to-day hotel operations, from sales and marketing, revenue management, guest experiences, programming, and food and beverage. Most recently the Director of Rooms of Kona Kai Resort & Spa in San Diego where she was recognized with the “Most Valuable Player” management award, Jones will ensure Moxy San Diego delivers on the hotel's mission to be a place for both business and leisure travelers to stay, play and have fun.
As Director of Sales and Marketing for Moxy San Diego, Geneva Maxwell brings nearly 15 years of hospitality experience to the team where she will be responsible for driving the sales and marketing strategies and initiatives for the soon-to-open hotel. Prior to joining Moxy San Diego, Maxwell was the Director of Sales and Marketing for Interstate Hotels & Resorts San Diego where she formed instrumental partnerships and relationships with the local community and businesses. Sales Manager Yvonne Gill will support Maxwell's efforts by bringing her customer service and sales background to maximize the hotel's revenue goals.
Leading the hotel's restaurant and bar concepts which includes the brand's signature Bar Moxy will be Food and Beverage Manager Mark deSalvo. Developing a spirited and unique cocktail program, deSalvo has more than 20 years of experience bartending and managing at some of Los Angeles' and San Diego's top bars, nightclubs and restaurants, including Cusp La Jolla and Preux & Proper in Los Angeles, and looks forward to electrifying the city's dining and entertainment scene.
