Thompson Hotels Announces Further Expansion in New York and L.A. to Better Serve the Brand's Chic Bo

NEW YORK, NY, August 24, 2005. Having taken over the operations of the legendary Hollywood Roosevelt in December, Thompson Hotel Group has recently announced further expansion of its portfolio of chic boutique properties to include a second hotel in Los Angeles and two new properties in New York.

Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills will open in March, bringing the hip relaxed-yet-stylish vibe of the Group's flagship, 60 Thompson, to the West Coast. With an idyllic location steps away from Rodeo Drive's infamous shopping strip and around the corner from Spago, the 110-room Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills will feature interiors by Dodd Mitchell, renowned for his design of the Roosevelt and numerous trendy Los Angeles restaurants (such as Dolce and Katana). The hotel will also feature a sleek restaurant and lounge, as well as a rooftop pool with unmatched views of both Beverly and Hollywood Hills. Rates will begin at $250.

"Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills is an ideal addition to the portfolio," says Thompson Hotel Group's Chief Operating Officer Stephen Brandman. "We see this hotel as the West Coast counterpart to New York's 60 Thompson. It will offer a sleek discreet option in Los Angeles, a perfect complement to the classic hip character of the Roosevelt." Thompson Hotel Beverly Hills will be managed by Thompson Hotels and owned by the Pomeranc Group, a family-owned real estate development firm now entering its 46th year of operation.

Meanwhile, New York developments include 6 Columbus, opening in November and Thompson Hotel Lower East Side opening on Allen Street in Spring 2006.

6 Columbus is a sleek 90-room haven that will bring "downtown chic to uptown Manhattan" - ideal for business travelers who prefer a hip haven to slip in and out of between meetings as an alternative to midtown's classic business hotels. Designed by Steven Sclaroff, who worked with Thomas O'Brien to develop the "warm modernism" of 60 Thompson, the hotel is conveniently located across the street from the Time Warner Center and will feature a lounge, outdoor dining space, rooftop terrace and old-fashioned barbershop. It will also be home to a celebrated New York restaurant group's next promisingly hot opening. Rates will begin at $295.

Thompson Lower East Side is the company's first hotel condominium project and will not only offer luxurious hotel accommodations, but will also have condominiums for sale that will be fully serviced by the hotel. Facilities will include a state-of-the-art spa, a theatre, destination restaurant, lounges and a rooftop terrace.
