The Brazilian Court Hotel Unveils Renovated Namesake Salon

USA, Palm Beach, Florida. July 14, 2021

Nestled inside the legendary Brazilian Court Hotel, Palm Beach's most exclusive salon, the namesake Brazilian Court Salon, is excited to unveil the extensive renovations and upgrades recently completed under the direction of LSI Designs' Lauren Hastings.

"In embarking on a refreshment of our luxury salon it was important to us to improve functionality and expand the services offered, while also breathing fresh life into the space," said Richard Schlesinger of Copperline Partners, owner of The Brazilian Court Hotel. "By reworking the interior layout, we were not only able to increase the amount of styling stations but also work in new additions to the services offered at The Brazilian Court Salon - ultimately delivering unparalleled pampering with the most sought-after hair legends in Palm Beach."

Designed to improve functionality while also bringing about a fresh, cutting edge design, the reworked Salon offers relaxation and rejuvenation of mind, body and soul. Acting as the starting point, the salon opted to use Italian brand Gamma & Bross for top-of-the-line salon furniture. The "Louis" inspired styling chairs, trimmed with a black lacquer frame and navy leather upholstery, are their own work of art while the updated shampoo chairs have motorized footrests. Expanding the number of stations for treatments, the salon now features 14 chairs for cuts, color and styling, five chairs for shampooing and one station for makeup.

As part of the new additions made, The Brazilian Court Salon now offers a modern-day version of a dedicated men's traditional barber station with a classic black leather barber chair for customized shaving and haircuts. A new Mani/Pedi Room features two pedicure chairs and two manicure stations and a new Treatment Room that will provide the ideal space for everything from facials, waxing and deep tissue massages.

Unique finishes such as black quartzite counters, geometric large format flooring and custom oversized glass textured windows by McMow Art Glass, a local artisan, are just a few of the design details that set the tone for the modern salon update.

Lighting was completely updated to provide the best possible CRI for hair color and work environment, while recessed linear lighting in the ceiling and at each station provides the best possible atmosphere for the perfect color and cut.

While The Brazilian Court Salon may be a new name to the Palm Beach area, the stylists in this salon are not. The salon's expert team of stylists and colorists are highly skilled and have been working together for years. Having had advanced training and international exposure to many of the top educators in the hair industry, they are innovators and pacesetters in the beauty industry, specializing in premium hair services ranging from French balayage highlights to precision haircuts and picture-perfect styling. In addition, the salon's licensed Full Esthetician is able to assist with all skincare, nail, and makeup needs - including manicures, pedicures, facials, make-up application, waxing and in-room beauty services.

Home to The Brazilian Court Salon, The Brazilian Court Hotel infuses old-world charm with Palm Beach luxury to offer an intimate and idyllic retreat. While on property, guests are invited to savor the cuisine of internationally acclaimed chef Daniel Boulud at Café Boulud or simply vanish into tranquility by the secluded, palm-fringed pool. Conveniently nestled in the heart of America's First Resort Destination™, The Brazilian Court is just steps from both the sapphire Atlantic Ocean and Worth Avenue, the world's most exclusive purveyor of luxury goods, art galleries and fine dining. Whether catching up with friends over cocktails in the courtyard or relaxing with a good book under a canopy of palms in chaises lined in crisp white linen, The Brazilian Court is redefined for a new generation seeking a retreat within its soft, stuccoed walls.

Coming up in October 2021...

Revenue Management: Monetizing All Offerings

Of all the departments within hotel operations, Revenue Management may have been the hardest hit, due to the pandemic. The logic goes - no revenue, no need for revenue managers - so many industry professionals were furloughed. If business rebounds in 2021, as expected, then hotel management will have to determine when prevailing occupancy levels justify bringing back their revenue management team. Also, the pandemic seems to have exposed some weaknesses in the traditional RevPAR models. There is a growing understanding that it is no longer sufficient to use a "revenue per available room" model; instead, hotels are adopting a TRevPAR model (total revenue per available room). This model recognizes that revenue streams from other departments are just as important as the revenue gained from rooms. As a result, hotels are looking at ways to monetize any and all hotel offerings - from dining outlets and spas to outdoor function spaces and local partnerships. The October issue of the Hotel Business Review will examine these developments and report on how some leading hotels are executing their revenue management strategies.
