USA, Dallas, Texas. November 11, 2021

Gillis, a training and sales performance organization for hoteliers, announced today that its remote, full service sales for hire service - "Dynamic Sales Solution" (DSS) produced $17 million in actual revenue for its clients since January 2021.

Hotels that have invested in sales strategies to prepare in advance of the return of travel are already seeing the impact of doing so. The Gillis DSS solution, a full-service, turnkey remote sales team, is designed to meet its clients' individual, property-specific needs while actively pursuing sales opportunities on a local, regional and national level.

  • 10X return on investment - In Q3 of 2021, Gillis not only delivered $6.7M in revenue to its clients, but the company turned over client investments more than 10X during that period.
  • Client loyalty - The company saw a 95 percent retention rate with clients this year at a time when owners are looking at all expenses. Through a dedicated team approach, Gillis provides its clients with a single point of contact and experts that are focused on specialized segments and geographies designed to shorten the sales cycle and deliver results.
  • Solving sales staffing challenges - As restrictions are lifted and travelers take to the skies again, today's hotels are not only faced with staffing issues, but also the operational challenges of recruiting, hiring, training and managing sales personnel. Gillis' DSS solves these challenges by providing a responsive, knowledgeable, and scalable solution that is more affordable than building expertise within.

Tammy Gillis, CEO, Gillis, said: "As the hospitality industry begins to re-emerge from this devastating downturn, the time is now to push the reset button and take a hard look at the approach to sales and its effectiveness. For those hotels that continue to struggle to find and retain good salespeople, Gillis DSS offers a turnkey solution that can pay for itself 10X over."

Architecture & Design: Welcome Home

Hotels are still very concerned about adhering to all required sanitation protocols but as the crisis wanes, they are also being relied upon to provide a space to escape and retreat in comfort. To satisfy this need, many new design trends are emerging. One such trend seeks to cultivate an environment that is comparable to the warmth and coziness  a traveler might have in their home. Lobbies are being reconfigured to resemble a family living room. For example, one leading hotel chain provides an off-lobby common area where four separate video game stations and two video games tables are furnished - all free of charge to play. Another trend is to replace traditional business centers with co-working spaces  where the lines between working and social interaction are often blurred. Finally, recognizing the impact of social media, hotels are designing specific areas to facilitate picture perfect moments (think Instagram). These are just some of the architecture and design subjects that will be covered in the November issue of the Hotel Business Review.
