Elysian Appoints EVPO&MD of Elysian Hotel, Chicago

CHICAGO, IL, December 3, 2007. Elysian Hotels & Resorts has appointed Thomas Lind as executive vice president of operations and managing director of the Elysian hotel, its flagship property scheduled to open in fall 2008.

"Thomas has earned an exemplary reputation for opening and operating the finest hotels throughout North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East," said David Pisor, founding partner and chief executive officer of Elysian Hotels & Resorts. "He will play an essential role in establishing the standards and service experiences to ensure the Elysian is one of the finest hotels in the world."

Throughout the 25 years he has spent in the hospitality field, Lind has contributed to the growth of luxury brands around the world. Prior to Chicago, Lind spent 8 years with the Four Seasons Hotel Company and more recently served as regional vice president and general manager at the Four Seasons in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His previous experience also includes senior executive roles with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Nikko Hotels, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, and Stouffer and Renaissance Hotels. In addition, Lind managed independent, luxury hotels in Sweden, his native country.

An acknowledged industry leader, Lind has presented guest lectures at several of the top hospitality colleges including Cornell and Florida State universities. Furthermore, Lind served as the president of the Terry Fox Run in Mexico. In this role, Lind was responsible for overseeing the logistics and planning for more than 10,000 participants. The run, a non-competitive charity event held annually across the globe, commemorates the 1980 Marathon of Hope led by the Canadian cancer activist, Terry Fox.

Lind earned a management degree with honors from Rosemont College in Pennsylvania. He comes to Chicago with his wife and four children.
