McNeill Investment Company (MIG) Names Travis Murray as President of McNeill Hotel Company

Part of Leadership Realignment Accompanying Strategic Recapitalization and Formation of McNeill Investment Group

USA, Germantown, Tennessee. August 31, 2022

McNeill Investment Group (MIG) has named Travis Murray as the new President of McNeill Hotel Company, a division of newly formed MIG. In this new position, Murray will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of McNeill Hotel Company, including brand and owner relationships, sales and marketing, revenue management and human resources, as well as focus on growing the Company's third-party hotel property management portfolio. MIG Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Chris Ropko made the announcement.

The appointment is part of a leadership realignment accompanying the company's completion of a strategic recapitalization with Prospect Ridge, a prominent national private equity real estate investor, and Fulcrum Hospitality, a hospitality investment operating partner, advisor, and asset manager.

Murray joined McNeill Hotel Company in 2018. Previously serving as a Regional Director and Vice President of Operations, Murray was instrumental in facilitating multiple acquisitions during a period of robust growth for the Company; and, further, has helped it achieve outstanding performance metrics throughout the pandemic and current hospitality industry recovery.

"Working closely with Mark Ricketts, his predecessor as President, Travis has thoroughly demonstrated the ‘Right Stuff' with steadily increasing responsibilities at McNeill. In particular, he played a key role in orchestrating the property management and other operational aspects of our recent strategic recapitalization," said Ropko.

"Travis is an outstanding leader," said Ricketts. He cares deeply about the people part of this business for our team members, our industry colleagues and our guests. I expect him to accomplish great things as our new President."

Murray has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality field. Prior to joining McNeill Hotel Company, he spent 14 years with Marriott International in numerous roles including General Manager, Dual General Manager and Corporate General Manager Specialist. Murray has extensive experience in functioning as a strategic business leader with responsibility for sustaining sales and marketing strategy, managing profitability, managing revenue generation, and managing and conducting human resources activities.

"I am honored to take on these new responsibilities during an exciting time for our Company. I especially want to thank Phillip H. McNeill, Jr., Mark Ricketts and Chris Ropko for the trust and confidence they have placed in me," Murray said.

Sales & Marketing: Integrating Technology

The Sales & Marketing department is responsible for maximizing a hotel's revenue by developing programs to increase occupancy and to make profitable use of its meeting and leisure facilities. Increasingly, managers are utilizing sophisticated digital technology to help them achieve those goals. Virtual Reality is being integrated into booking engines which provide potential guests the opportunity to tour a property from afar, including wedding, event and food & beverage facilities. Voice Search has also become a popular marketing tool. Using smart home devices, it's now possible for customers to book hotels entirely through voice commands. Chatbots are becoming more ubiquitous as hotels seek to refine their online customer service. Chatbots can answer common questions, push key marketing messages, increase direct bookings, and even guide customers through the booking process. Finally, hotels are already preparing for the debut of the Metaverse and planning how sales and marketing departments will fully participate. The June Hotel Business Review will focus on the sales and marketing strategies that some hotels are adopting and how they are benefiting from them.
