Kolter Hospitality Promotes George Martinez to Area Director of Revenue

USA, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. March 22, 2023

Kolter Hospitality is pleased to announce the appointment of George Martinez as the Area Director of Revenue for a collection of three Florida-based Hyatt hotels.

A driven and knowledgeable expert in his field, Martinez most recently excelled as the Director of Revenue Management of the award-winning Hyatt Centric Las Olas, supporting revenue efforts since he joined the pre-opening team in 2019.

As he steps into this next role, Martinez will continue to be responsible for leading the strategic positioning of both transient and group pricing, as well as forecasting and budgeting top line revenues for the Hyatt Centric Las Olas in downtown Fort Lauderdale, and now also at Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Point and Hyatt Place Coconut Point in Estero, FL.

"Martinez is an extremely talented and dedicated professional," said Sara Martinez, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Having spent most of his career in revenue management, Martinez has an incredible depth of knowledge and I'm confident he'll continue to be a strong asset to our growing team as we expand his role with Kolter."

With almost 20 years of experience under his belt, Martinez started his hospitality career at the front desk of the Sheraton Yankee Trader hotel in Fort Lauderdale Beach, where he eventually transitioned into the revenue management discipline. His extensive resume includes experience in several destinations across Florida and the Caribbean including director positions at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Performance Hospitality and the W South Beach. The Florida International University graduate credits living in sunny South Florida for pulling him into the world of hospitality and fueling his passion throughout the years.

"It has been an honor to grow alongside the Hyatt Centric Las Olas over the past few years," said Martinez. "I appreciate Kolter Hospitality for entrusting me with taking the reins of the revenue management of these three properties, and I am thrilled to be a part of their continued success."

Hotel Spa: Reconnecting With Nature

Hotel spas have never been so popular. The global wellness market is estimated to be in excess of $1.5 trillion with an annual growth rate of 5 to 10 percent. Consequently, spas are continually developing new programs, products, tools, and environments to meet the needs of guests who are seeking total body health and wellness. One trend that spas are embracing is a multiplicity of ways to reconnect with nature. Spas are moving beyond the “garden” model and going deeper into the countryside and forest, providing immersion in a wilder natural setting. Wild swimming, forest bathing, foraging, outdoor massage, and hiking trails are concepts that are being designed into the spa journey. Some hotels have built individual cabins deep in the forest for sauna, bathing and massage treatments, and others are offering bedroom suites which are located in cabins or tree houses away from the main hotel. The July issue of the Hotel Business Review will report on these and other developments, and how some hotel spas are integrating them into their operations.
