Michael Hirst to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award at IHI Forum
BERLIN, Germany, November 6, 2007. Michael Hirst, OBE, will be awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the 11th annual International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF), scheduled for 3-5 March 2008, at the InterContinental Berlin, Germany.
In addition be being a consultant to CB Richard Ellis Hotels, Hirst is active in representing Britain's tourism needs, serving as Chairman of the Business Tourism Partnership, a cross-industry and government group which represents the conference, meetings, exhibition, outdoor events, incentive travel and corporate hospitality sectors. Hirst is also a member of VisitBritain's Tourism Development Committee and represents business tourism at Government consultation meetings, including the Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure Tourism Sector Skills Summit. Hirst was awarded an OBE in the 2004 New Year Honours for his services to tourism.
The IHIF Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to an individual who, over his or her lifetime, has made a significant difference in the hospitality industry by their actions, deeds, and great accomplishments. The Award recipient is selected by a committee comprised of the IHIF's Patrons, Sponsors, Hosts, and Organizers.
