Mohegan Sun Names VP Marketing and Promotions

OCTOBER 30, 2007. Mohegan Sun recently announced that Kara Fox-LaRose has been appointed Vice President of Marketing and Promotions, and Kristen Chapman has been promoted to Director of Specials Events.

In her new role as Vice President of Marketing and Promotions, Fox-LaRose will be responsible for all aspects of development, event planning and analytics, implementation and delivery of efficient and effective events within the areas of Special Events, Consumer Promotions and Player's Club.

Fox-LaRose has been working at Mohegan Sun since its inception in 1996, where she began as a Marketing Administrator. She quickly moved up the ranks, being promoted to Special Events Manager in 2000 and Special Events Director in 2002, a position she held for five years before getting promoted to her current role. In that role, Fox-LaRose organized, executed and oversaw a number of high profile events including Mohegan Sun's star-studded 10th Anniversary celebrations in October of 2006.

As Director of Special Events, Chapman will be responsible for the development, implementation and operation of all special events. Chapman will also organize and execute various on-site events, as well as develop and oversee the Mohegan Sun's community and charitable events.

Chapman first started her career at Mohegan Sun as an intern in the Finance department in 1998, as well as the Revenue Audit department in 1999. Afte r working as Director's Assistant at Quinnipiac University, Chapman returned to Mohegan Sun in 2005 as Rooms Revenue Maximization Analyst. From there, she became Manager of Special Events, where she designed, planned, and executed targeted marketing events, as well as maintained department budgets. She currently holds a Master's of Business Administration from Quinnipiac University, as well as a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing from the University of Tampa.
