Lexington Expands to China and Beyond

. October 14, 2008

OCTOBER 22, 2007. Strengthening its presence not only in the USA but internationally, The Lexington Collection has unveiled two new hotels in China that will fly the Lexington flag.

The Lexington Plaza Shenyang, a 600-room five-star luxury plaza hotel that is located in the heart of Shenyang, will open to the public on Dec. 31. The plaza hotel is part of the Rich Gate Project, a multi-functional complex providing one-stop service including shopping and entertainment.

Shenyang is the capital city of Liaoning province in Northeast China and is known to be one of the most active commercial cities in mainland China.

In Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province, and the most populous city in central China, the 340-room Lexington Wuhan Hotel will open to the public in June 2008.

"It was important for us to not only expand globally, but to have a presence in some of the most vital cities in China," said Steve Belmonte, The Lexington Collection CEO & President. "People are traveling to China in record numbers and we are positioning ourselves to meet the flourishing demands that will be put upon the lodging industry in China.

"Moreover, the Lexington Collection Hotel and Plaza Hotel will be open to the public in a few short months and both properties will offer guests elegant rooms that embrace the rich sophistication that is synonymous to modern Chinese style."

Overseeing the China Lexington expansion is Martin Soran, CEO of Lexington Hotel Company, Ltd. Shanghai, PRC. Soran was instrumental in securing the two Lexington hotels.

"All eyes will be on China in the next few years, especially with the upcoming Summer Olympic Games and a host of other major international events, that it just made sense for us to be here," said Soran.

Demonstrating their commitment to international growth, The Lexington Collection, along with Vantage Hospitality, the parent company, have appointed Bill Hanley to head its international division.

Hanley is the Partner and Managing Director of International Development for the newly-established Vantage Hospitality Group Canada, Inc. He is working closely with Belmonte to pursue new locations throughout Canada to develop the upper-mid to upscale brand.

In addition to Canada, Hanley is researching other viable areas including India, Great Britain, South and Central America, and Europe.

The Lexington Collection hotel chain premiered to the public in 2006 and has been charting a new course in the hospitality industry since then. The Lexington brand is available to three and four star hotels and offers hotel owners four distinct products - hotels, suites, villas and resorts, and plazas.
