‘Barefoot at Oasis’ Returns to Mandarin Oriental, Miami

HONG KONG, October 16, 2007. Back by popular demand, Barefoot at Oasis, the Friday night beach party at Mandarin Oriental, Miami, sizzles with an alluring Moroccan style theme, new VIP 'Barefoot Dining' section and an eclectic mix of sultry music by popular DJ Am'alia.

Beginning Friday, 2 November and open through May 2008, Barefoot at Oasis will be the place to be Friday nights from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Guests can sip signature cocktails including Oasis Breeze and Marrakech Sunset at the water's edge and under the stars, with the Miami skyline as a backdrop. While savoring their drinks, guests can enjoy the evening party and lounge the night away with their closest friends on an Oasis Moroccan day bed or a plush Opium bed.

Offering the absolute in opulence and decadence, the private beach is decorated in authentic Moroccan style, featuring exotic beds with colorful cushions and canopies in alluring red, orange and gold tones made from rich Moroccan materials and fabrics. Chic beach butlers will be on hand to check-in shoes at the door letting guests relax, unwind and walk barefoot on the powdery sand, while DJ Am'alia, the sought-after club DJ, brings her brand of high energy music to guests wanting to enjoy the hippest sights and sounds. A delectable menu of Chinese Dim Sum prepared by the hotel's award-winning chefs will be available.

To take full advantage of those rare, chilly winter nights in Miami, there will be beach bonfires with marshmallows for roasting and warm specialty beverages such as a festive Hot Cocoa with Peppermint Schnapps.

For the ultimate in outdoor dining, guests can reserve a VIP table in the private 'Barefoot Dining' area of Oasis. This chic VIP section is beautifully decorated with exotic Moroccan-style materials and iron lanterns that illuminate the space creating a sophisticated and exclusive atmosphere. Guests can book one of the low-set tables with comfortable, oversized cushions for an intimate evening or small private parties. This will be one of Miami's most extravagant dining experiences with vibrant music, fabulous surroundings and gorgeous views of Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline.

Hotel Executive Chef Tom Parlo has designed a special three-course family style menu, which will be perfect for sharing and experiencing a variety of dishes. A sampling of the menu, which changes weekly, is: First Course: Beef Short Rib Empanadas with Roasted Onions and Roasted Tomato Dip; Serrano Ham with Melon and Manchego; and Vietnamese Vegetable Spring Roll with Sweet Chili Lime Dipping Sauce. For the main course: Soy Glazed Duck Breast with Arugula "Ponzu Vinaigrette" Black Rice; Rack of Lamb and Chick Pea Fries with Curried Yoghurt Sauce; and Pancetta Wrapped Scallops, Roasted Mushroom Salad and Blue Cheese Polenta. For dessert, a Bento Box of six delicious desserts. Priced at USD 75 per person, excluding tax and gratuity, Barefoot Dining is limited to 20 guests and advanced reservations are required.
