SEPTEMBER 28, 2006. Wyndham Vacation Ownership, the world's largest vacation ownership company, has welcomed the first guests to WorldMark San Diego located in the heart of downtown San Diego. A 68-unit vacation ownership property operated by Wyndham Vacation Ownership subsidiary Trendwest Resorts, WorldMark San Diego offers timeshare owners and guests' convenient access to some of the area's most popular attractions including the San Diego Zoo, SeaWorld San Diego and Balboa Park. The new addition expands Trendwest's portfolio to 60 resorts in North America, most of which are located throughout the western United States.

'We are excited to bring our WorldMark vacation ownership program to the San Diego area, an extremely popular destination for leisure travelers of all types,' said Franz Hanning, president and CEO of Wyndham Vacation Ownership. 'Among vacationing families, we've seen a rapidly growing trend toward overnight stays in culture-rich metropolitan areas. We've responded by adding comfortable fully-furnished resorts in popular urban locations around the country, such as WorldMark San Diego, which surround our owners and guests with premier attractions, shopping and entertainment.'

Under a complete refurbishment since 2003, the historic five-story building now home to WorldMark San Diego was originally built in 1928 and most recently served as an extended stay hotel property. Still featuring the original brickwork, the resort features 49 studio units and 19 one-bedroom units complete with fully equipped kitchenettes. Other resort amenities include an expansive rooftop deck with breathtaking views of downtown San Diego, a game room, and an exercise facility.
